Manchester City have agreed a deal for Sevilla winger Jesus Navas, according to BBC. The Spanish winger has been linked heavily with City since the news that Manuel Pellegrini is likely to take over the empty managerial hot-seat at the Etihad but things seem to be moving into the next stages as a fee of around £17m has been given the thumbs up for all parties.
Navas has been with the club for his entire career but at 27 he has decided that he needs a new challenge, and playing alongside Jack Rodwell was too tempting to turn down. *cough*
The fact that the Citizens are rebuilding for a campaign in which they believe they can strip the Premier League title away from Manchester United is something that will be attractive for Navas as the Spanish topflight is continued to be dominated by Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The fee may look a bit high for someone of his age as his main threat throughout his career has been his pace, but he is blessed with quick feet and an array of dazzling skills and possibly most importantly for a wide man a deadly delivery.
However the same was said about Scott Sinclair when he joined last year.
